Huddersfield Town defender Pipa has been called up to the latest Spain Under-21s squad for their upcoming UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifiers.
The right-back will now join up with Luis de la Fuente’s side for the qualifiers against the Faroe Islands on Thursday 8 October (17:45 BST kick-off) before they face Kazakhstan the following Tuesday (17:45 BST start).
La Rojita can cement their place in next summer’s finals during this month’s qualifiers, with them currently occupying top spot in Group F with five wins and a draw from their six group matches to date.
Pipa already has two caps for the Under-21s, making his debut at that level in a friendly against Germany in October 2019 before playing in La Rojita’s last qualifier against Macedonia’s Under-21s in March.
It rounds off a promising first month at Town for the 22-year-old, who joined the Club from Spanish side RCD Espanyol in September and played every minute of the Terriers’ Sky Bet Championship campaign so far.
