Huddersfield Town forward Josh Koroma praised the Terriers’ work ethic in the 2-1 win over Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.
Koroma’s 67th minute strike was decisive as the Terriers bounced back after Andre Ayew’s penalty had cancelled out Harry Toffolo’s early opener.
Speaking to #HTTV post-match, the young forward expressed his delight at getting the three points after a hard-fought 90 minutes in South Wales.
“Just excitement. Everyone’s buzzing, we’re all tired, we worked our socks off today.
“Thankfully we got three points today, so it’s been a decent start.”
The goal was the 21-year-old’s first in a Town shirt since signing for the Club last summer.
When reflecting on the key moment pitchside at the home of the Swans, the forward showed his gratitude after his misplaced back-pass nearly saw Swansea take the lead, moments before the winning goal.
“About five minutes before I nearly lost us the game, but that’s how football goes - it’s full of ups and downs.
“Luckily, the ball dropped to me and I was able to finish it.
“I’ve had a few chances in the last few games but I’m just glad finally one’s gone in and hopefully, long may it continue.”
Having gone ahead for the second time in the game with that strike, the Terriers saw out the remainder of the encounter with a resilient defensive performance.
Josh praised the team’s effort in securing the three points.
“We all worked together.
“We’ve been working hard in training; we know we’ve got a very busy period of games coming up.
“If you defend well, you always have a chance of winning. We reacted well (to conceding) and we got the three points.”
