Huddersfield Town Head Coach Carlos Corberán was delighted with his side’s work rate and togetherness in the impressive win over Swansea City.

That was Town’s first win at the Liberty Stadium since 2007 and first away win of the Sky Bet Championship campaign.

Speaking after the battling, assured win, Town’s Head Coach gave his thought on the win.

“We knew that we had to work a lot today to get something positive from this pitch.

“The team put in an unbelievable effort to get something positive.

“Players need to play with this solidarity, spirit and experience to be competitive.

“To be competitive we need to support our teammates, support them in mistakes, help them and have that togetherness.”

Town changed their shape for the game against the Swans, lining up in a 3-5-2 formation instead of the usual 4-2-3-1.

Corberán explained why he made the tactical switch and how the Terriers improved in the second half.

“We knew they had very good strikers, so we tried to give ourselves some more defensive options to try and control their striker; that was key today.

“We had to defend well as a team. We knew if we defended well that was the key to win the game.

“We had to adapt to the game. In the second half we started to control the game, but against a team like Swansea we will concede some chances. I think we had the luck we needed to not concede a goal.

“I’m happy at the other end because the team created a lot of chances to score a goal.

“In the second half we felt more confidence to receive the ball. Eiting dropped more to help the team build the attack. Sometimes you defend better when you attack better.

“I think the team felt better in the second half, we created more and that gave you everything you needed to go for the game.

“In the last few minutes, we were very focused in the defence. We knew which level we needed in defence against a team like Swansea.”
