Huddersfield Town Head Coach Carlos Corberán looked ahead to the Club’s Sky Bet Championship game against Derby County.

The Terriers come into the match off the back of an impressive 2-1 win over Swansea City.

When speaking to the press ahead of the midweek game against the Rams, Carlos explained what he learned from Saturday’s win.

“We have analysed the things we did well and the things we need to do better.

“We're going to keep trying to improve from the defensive point of view because we conceded a lot of chances. We need to demand a high level in defence.

“In attack we didn't beat the press enough in the first half. We can get more points if we do those things better.”

Derby County currently sit 21st in the Sky Bet Championship table with one win from their opening five games – that came in a 1-0 win over Norwich City.

Despite that run of form, Carlos believes Phillip Cocu’s side will still be a formidable opponent.

“Sometimes in a season your position in the table doesn’t reflect the level of your squad and that’s the case for them at the moment.

“When I faced them twice last season, the games were very hard. They continue to work with the same coach and have some clear ideas. They have a lot of quality and some interesting, young players. We have to be aware of that.”

Carlos also revealed the latest team news ahead of the game, including details on Joel Pereira who pulled out of the Swansea match day squad in the warm-up.

“Joel Pereira felt something in his back on Friday and felt it again in the warm-up. That's why we take three goalkeepers with us. He is a little bit better now and we will continue to keep checking on him. He could be on our bench tomorrow.

“Danny Ward needs more time and Edmonds-Green continues the same process, but the same players are available for the next game.”
