Huddersfield Town Head Coach Carlos Corberán expressed his delight at the Terriers’ performance following the 3-0 win at Millwall.

The Terriers got back to winning ways with a confident performance in the capital that secured all three points and the Spaniard’s biggest win as Town’s Head Coach.

Carlos gave his thoughts on his team’s showing when reflecting on the game post-match at The Den.

“I think today was a good performance. I am very happy with the performance the team have showed in this last week,” he said.

“I am happy with some moments in the last two games even if we had some negative results, but we tried to analyse and tried to face the defeats to make us better.

“I think today the team showed a good performance and I think this performance was the result of the team learning from the mistakes we were doing in the previous games.”

The three points, three goals and a clean sheet were the highlights of a successful afternoon for the Terriers in the capital.

But speaking post-match, Carlos praised his side’s quality on the pitch during a hard-fought encounter at The Den.

“My favourite part was that the team had the capability to adapt to the adversity in some moments.

“First, they adapted fast to the shape of the opponent. Second, they trusted themselves in some complicated moments.

“I have to praise the competitive spirit of the team. When you come to this pitch, if you don’t have this spirit, it’s going to be impossible to win the game.”

The Spaniard’s team selection for Town’s fifth game over a period of 21 days before the October international break featured five changes prior to kick-off in South East London.

With the busy period in mind, Carlos explained his selection for the meeting with the Lions.

“In this competition, it’s always important to have all the players involved to keep the freshness and the spirit, especially when we are playing consecutively.

“We played away at Birmingham and we were playing away today so you don’t have a lot of time to recover, at the same time you have the travel.

“One of the keys for us is to have the players that are one hundred percent. Sometimes the player needs recovery time to give one hundred percent because it’s the only way we want to face the games.”
