Huddersfield Town midfielder Juninho Bacuna was delighted to see the team’s fighting effort was rewarded with the three points against Derby County.

Speaking to #HTTV post-match, Bacca expressed his delight at picking up the win against the Rams.

The midfielder praised the team’s effort in seeing out the result.

“We fought as a team to the last second. We kept a clean sheet and got this win,” he said.

“First half was hard because we didn’t know for sure how they would play, and they came with a totally different formation.

“We adapted well at half-time and in the second half, we dominated more and ended up getting the result.”

Looking back on his 53rd minute strike, the game's decisive goal, Town’s no.7 praised the work of Harry Toffolo in the build-up.

“I wish it was (a move from the training ground)!

“It was good play. Toffs’ overlap, something he loves to do, one pass and he’s gone.

“(I got a ) body in the box and I knew then we can finish this action. I passed to Toffs and after the pass I ran after it, got free, and chose the corner.

“I’ve been waiting for it (his first goal of the season).

“I’m happy with my first goal, now I want more and more wins for the Club.”

Bacca’s winner secured back-to-back Sky Bet Championship wins for Town and fourth successive game unbeaten in the league, meaning the Terriers have now taken 10 points from a possible 12 in recent weeks.

The midfielder says Town are continuing to work as hard as they can to keep improving as a team under Carlos Corberán.

“This team, this Club, we’ve worked hard to implement the new style.

“I think we’re doing really well. We try to play out from the back, find the passes in midfield, the wingers can do the actions and then we have to get as many people into the box to finish the action.

“I think it’s hard but we’re doing our best to adapt to the new style.”
