The Kirkwood is the third charity to appear on the Terriers’ jerseys
- The Kirkwood to appear as Huddersfield Town’s sponsor on Tuesday evening
- Logo to appear on the Terriers’ match-worn shirts against Cardiff City
- Local businesses can still purchase tickets for front of shirt sponsorship for home matches
Huddersfield Town’s First Team will proudly wear The Kirkwood logo on the front of their shirts during their midweek Sky Bet Championship match against Cardiff City.
The Club announced earlier this month that for all away matches they will be giving exposure to three fantastic local charities on the front of their away shirts.
The Town Foundation and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance have already appeared on the jerseys, and now The Kirkwood will appear on the red away shirt when they travel to face the Welsh side on Tuesday.
In case you don’t already know, The Kirkwood (formerly known as Kirkwood Hospice) is an independent charity, providing vital care and support for anyone affected by a life limiting illness in Kirklees.
The Kirkwood are motivated by the belief that everyone affected by a life limiting illnesses deserves the very best care. Care which helps to improve quality of life in ways that are important for the families relying on it – for however long that may be.
For over 30 years, The Kirkwood have cared for people in Huddersfield, and across Kirklees. Whether at the hospice, in the home or out in the community, the charity helps patients, families and carers to live the best quality of life possible and make the most of every single day.
The charity offers a wide range of services, caring for people at any stage of their illness, including a dedicated team of community nurses who visit patients and families in their own homes throughout Kirklees. Not many people are aware, but The Kirkwood are the only charity which provides specialist nursing support for people in their own homes here in Kirklees.
From the moment someone receives a diagnosis, right through to end of life care – and beyond –The Kirkwood Support Life at every stage of the journey.
Michael Crowther, Chief Executive with The Kirkwood, said: “To be asked to feature on the front of Huddersfield Town’s away shirt is a huge honour; it’s fantastic exposure for us.
“As a local charity, many of the people we care for are huge Town fans, and over the years, we have developed a fantastic relationship with the Club.
“Locally, we know there are many people living with a life limiting illness who may benefit from our services. But many don’t reach out soon enough for us to make a positive difference to their quality of life. Sometimes they don’t reach out at all. We hope that this collaboration will encourage Town fans to find out more about the many ways The Kirkwood help patients and families across Kirklees.

All three-charity logos will be available to put on new and pre-bought shirts once the stores are able to reopen; there will be a charge of £5 for this with a donation of £2.50 going to the chosen charity. Further information will be available in due course.
For the majority of the remaining home matches, the Club will open its premier advertising opportunity to firms by way of a match-by-match draw!
20 tickets will be available for each available game at just £250 + VAT each and firms can buy anything from 1 to 20; that means that if you buy all 20, then you will secure the sponsorship for that specific game!
