Head Coach Carlos Corberán says Ben Hamer will be in contention to return to action for Huddersfield Town during Saturday’s game against Middlesbrough at the John Smith’s Stadium.

The goalkeeper has missed both of Town's matches since the international break, having been in isolation following a confirmed contract/trace within his household.

Hamer will complete that isolation period on Friday however, and could be in line to return to the side for Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship clash, according to Carlos Corberán who provided an update on his squad ahead of that game on Friday afternoon.

“The only player that is going to finish his isolation process today (Friday) is Ben Hamer. Tomorrow, he will be available.

“He was making some training at home, keeping his condition. In the morning, he will do some work and depending on the feeling, he can be available.

“We also have Joel (Pereira) and Ryan (Schofield) who have had good games in their last games; Joel with the B Team and Ryan in the First Team.”

Speaking to the media during his Friday afternoon virtual press conference, the Spaniard also provided an update on the fitness of Pipa and Alex Pritchard, who have also missed both games since the international break.

“They both continue being in the same process, in the last part of the recovery.

“Neither of the players are going to be available tomorrow. I think they will both be days away.”

Another player the Terriers will be without for Saturday’s match in HD1 is Captain Christopher Schindler, who was forced off at half-time in Tuesday night’s draw at Wycombe with concussion.

The skipper is well but is undergoing the necessary protocol following that type of injury, says the boss.

“Schindler is following the regulations. After a concussion, we know the regulations from the medical department say you have to rest six days.

“He doesn’t have any problems, but we know he has to follow the advice. He will be back next week.”
