Huddersfield Town are back in Sky Bet Championship action with Bristol City the visitors to the John Smith Stadium on Tuesday 3 November 2020; 7pm kick-off.

The Terriers will be looking to build on an impressive 3-0 win over Millwall at The Den on Saturday.

Town also return to home soil for the visit of the Robins off the back of two wins in the last three at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Tuesday night’s match is the first of two home games for Town this week prior to the November international break, as Carlos Corberán’s side welcome Luton Town to West Yorkshire the following Saturday.

THE OPPOSITION

It’s been a season of two halves, split by the October international break, for Dean Holden’s side as they look to push on from last term’s 12th place finish.

Off the back of a hot start to the campaign in Holden’s first month in permanent charge, the Robins went into the break as one of the Championship’s in-form outfits, winning all four of their fixtures prior to the break.

However, their campaign has stuttered since their return to Club action and they’re without a win since victory at Nottingham Forest in the final game before the break.

There’s been draws in that time against Barnsley and Swansea City, but the Robins will be eyeing a return to winning ways during their midweek trip to West Yorkshire.

FORM GUIDE

The Terriers will be looking to build some momentum following that aforementioned win at Millwall at the weekend.

Carlos Corberán’s side have won three out of five since returning from the October break, ahead of this week’s two games in HD1.

As for Bristol City, Robins come into the game off the back of a 3-1 defeat at home to Norwich City over the weekend.

Having not won a game since before the break, City are looking to pick up their first three points against Town, having experienced back-to-back losses against Norwich and Bournemouth in recent weeks.

ONES TO WATCH

Jamie Paterson

The attacking midfielder has been a mainstay in the Robins’ side this season, starting all nine Sky Bet Championship games so far this season. Within that time, Paterson has played the second most minutes of any Bristol City outfield player (778) and been a key attacking asset. The former Town loanee is tied for the most league goal contributions from a Robins player through the season’s first nine games, scoring twice and providing two assists.

Nakhi Wells

The former Town man has found his goalscoring touch in the early weeks of the campaign for the Robins. Wells has three goals through the first nine Sky Bet Championship matches of the season, finding the net against Stoke City, Nottingham Forest and Swansea City. The forward is coming to the end of his first year at the Club, having signed from Burnley back in January 2020.

Chris Martin

The forward was one of the Robins’ five summer signings, making the move to Ashton Gate following seven years at Pride Park with Derby County. Martin has played in every one of his new club’s league outings so far this season, providing a team-high four assists. He’s still awaiting his first Championship goal for City but netted for the first time in Club colours during a Carabao Cup tie against Southampton in September.

PREVIOUS ENCOUNTERS

It’s the Terriers who have the better of the record in the fixture’s history, winning 26 of the 59 encounters to Bristol City’s 22 (11 draws).

The Robins do have recent history in the meetings to boast about, however, winning five of the last seven games between the sides dating back to December 2015.

It was Town who came out on top to take all three points in the last encounter however, winning 2-1 on home soil back in February courtesy of goals from Chris Willock and Karlan Grant.
