Huddersfield Town Head Coach Carlos Corberán believes everyone needs to take responsibility for the defeat against Bristol City and look to respond against Luton Town on Saturday.

The Terriers had gone ahead in the first half courtesy of Josh Koroma but a second half turnaround from the visitors condemned the Terriers to defeat at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Speaking post-match, Carlos’ reviewed the encounter.

“We played a game against a strong opponent and at the same time, one opponent that came with a negative dynamic on the results,” he said.

“We knew they arrived to this game to try and change that dynamic.

“I think in the first half, we did fantastic because we controlled all the aspects. We defended well, we avoided any chances of them and after a few minutes, we started to control the ball and play in the offensive half and we scored one goal.

“For me, the start of the team in the second half was the right one. We continued controlling the game, we attacked in the offensive half and we stopped their transitions.

“But in the moment they made their substitutions, we couldn’t continue with the control of the ball, we couldn’t stop the chances they had and we couldn’t stop the behaviour of the substitute players.

“That’s why for me, they deserve the goals they scored because we couldn’t stop them.”

Having led for the majority of the game, two late goals for the Robins turned the contest on its head in the closing minutes.

The Spaniard says Town will go away, review those key moments and look to improve on it in order to get better as a team, going forward.

“We need to analyse as a team if we could stop the dynamic of the game.

“We have to take responsibility as a team to know why the moment they made three substitutions, we couldn’t stop the enough.

“We know that football is 90 minutes and the moment you can’t control the game for 90 minutes, you are not going to have the same options to win the game.”

One standout positive for the Terriers on the evening was the opening goal of the game from Josh Koroma that involved a well-worked move to set it up.

Carlos was delighted with the work from his team in scoring the goal but says Town will also analyse the things that didn’t go so well, in order to grow stronger ahead of Saturday’s game.

“Some of the ideas that we have is to break the press.

“Sometimes in this moment, we need to take some risk. This is exactly what we did in this action.

“It was a very positive moment, we know we did a lot of positive things.

“But our analysis to be stronger cannot just be on those things. Now, our analysis has to be on what we didn’t do enough because we wanted to achieve this win today.”
