Huddersfield Town Head Coach Carlos Corberán says the Terriers’ aim was to take all three points but praised his side’s efforts during the 0-0 draw with Wycombe Wanderers.

Town took a point from Adams Park following a hard-fought encounter with the Chairboys in the Sky Bet Championship.

Carlos gave his thoughts on the encounter post-match.

“Today was a very tough game,” he said.

“We played the game we expected today because we know this team have started to take points in the last five games in the Championship playing with this level of aggressiveness and trying to use all the set pieces.”

The point was Town’s first since the international break ahead of two home games back at the John Smith’s Stadium in the coming week.

Despite taking a point on the road, Carlos says his side were striving for a better outcome from the game, in spite of their efforts throughout the 90 minutes.

“For me, when you don’t win the game, it’s never enough.

“We came here with the idea to get three points because this is always our target against any opponent in any pitch.

“At the same time, I know the effort of the team was fantastic and with this effort we got one point.”

Following the match, Carlos also provided an update on Town skipper Christopher Schindler who was forced off at half-time having picked up a knock in the closing stages of the first 45.

“It was a concussion in the head, that’s why he was a little bit out of the game and that’s why we decided to take him out, not because he wasn’t ready but because it was not safe to keep playing with him.

“I hope that it isn’t anything serious because Schindler has been working really well during the international break, during this week.

“He’s showed why he is captain of the team because he has a good spirit, and even if he’s not playing, he never changes. This is always important.

“He was making a good game before this situation, but this is what can happen in this type of football.

“I think the team competed in this situation like we had to.”
