Huddersfield Town Head Coach Carlos Corberán is expecting a tough test against Middlesbrough on Saturday but says that it is a challenge he and his players are relishing.

The Terriers come up against a Boro side who sit just outside the play-off places through 13 matches, having lost just twice in the league all season.

Conversing with the media during his Friday afternoon pre-match press conference, Carlos gave his thoughts on Saturday’s in-form opponents.

“They are a team that have conceded the least amount goals until now in the Championship.

“It talks a lot about how good they are in defence, but also they are dangerous in attack and they have a lot of options. That’s why they are in a good moment and in a good situation in the table.

“We have analysed them like any other team, we know it is going to be another demanding game.

“We also know that it’s a team that defends similar to us, and it’s something we have to know how to attack because they have a certain style of defence.”

Boro make the trip to the John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday afternoon with a familiar face in charge in the form of Neil Warnock.

The 71-year-old, who was appointed at the Riverside Stadium back in June, managed Town for two seasons between 1993 and 1995, leading the Terriers to promotion from Division 2 in 1994/95 as well as overseeing the Club’s move from Leeds Road to the John Smith’s Stadium during his time in West Yorkshire.

Carlos is looking forward to going up against one of his predecessors at the weekend.

“He’s had a lot of success, and some of it here of course. I respect the coach as he has been here, but also because he’s a coach that has had a lot of success.

“Always, these types of teams and these types of coaches are a challenge but a positive type of challenge for us.”

Saturday’s game is the first of three home matches at the John Smith’s Stadium for the Terriers in the next four in the fixture schedule.

During his virtual press conference, Town’s Head Coach is hoping his side can use the upcoming run in familiar surroundings to their advantage.

“Always, when you are playing consecutively and avoiding travel, it’s always important.

“You are in your conditions, you know your hotel, you don’t have to spend time on the bus. You can be focused on your preparation for the game.

“It doesn’t change the way we play, whether we are home or away. We are trying to expose the weaknesses of the opponent and create a lot."
