Álex Vallejo feels right at home at Huddersfield Town and continues to work hard on the training pitch with his teammates.

After joining the Terriers, the Spanish defensive midfielder had to quarantine for 14-days before he could get started at the Club’s Training Ground.

Since his arrival at Canalside he has worked tirelessly with the coaches and the other players to get up to speed.

It feels a little while ago now when Álex was announced by the Club, but he explained how it felt when he heard of the Terriers’ interest.

“When they told me there was an option to come here, I stopped all my other options; I only wanted to come here. I never had to think about it because I only wanted to come here.

“I’m very happy. I think that it’s a pleasure for me to play in such an important club like this.”

It’s often referred to as being like the first day at school when you join a new Football Club, but the experienced midfielder explained how easy it’s been to settle in.

“I’ve felt very comfortable since the first day. When I came, they (the players) talked to me, tried to help, and right now I feel right at home.”

This is Álex’s first experience of English football and he’s ready for the challenges it’ll bring.

“Carlos told me the training is very different; it’s really physical, intense, but that’s the best way to improve.

“He told me that I’d have to work a lot because the style of football is different than in Spain.”

The 6ft 3’ midfielder has had some time to get used to those changes with Danny Schofield’s B Team – featuring twice for them so far.

“I think that it’s always good for a player to add minutes. I think both matches have been good for me because I stayed a long time without playing,” said the midfielder.

“I think for any player to play at the John Smith’s Stadium is amazing. I’m working hard to play as soon as possible.”
