Huddersfield Town’s Elite Development Team player Jaheim Headley has noticed significant improvements in his game so far this season.

Headley, who arrived at the Town ahead of the 2018/19 season, has been enjoying the developments he has made since he began life as a Young Terrier.

Since arriving as a midfielder, he has experienced playing in both the winger and the left-back position; a position that he feels suits his strong defensive and ball carrying abilities.

He admits that the process of trying out different positions has been key to him developing his overall game performance.

“It’s good to have an understanding of playing in different positions, I think being versatile is a big thing and playing in different positions helps develop my understanding of the game.”

“I like playing left-back because it suits my play style of making forward runs and running with the ball as well as 1v1 defending.”

Headley delved into how Danny Schofield’s input in training has shifted performances in recent games.

“The skills we’ve been working on, Danny says that’s how football should be played and a lot of the players agree with him.

“I can see that within the last few matches people have been picking up what he’s been saying and implementing it into the game.”
