Ahead of Town’s match against Wigan Athletic, htafc.com is looking back at Huddersfield Town’s top four wins against the Latics!

Town have enjoyed some memorable wins both home and away over Wigan Athletic in recent years.

Here are some of our favourites!

Huddersfield Town 1-0 Wigan Athletic - 02/01/2017

A late winner which saw the Terriers avenge a 2-1 defeat to Wigan earlier in November.

A long-range attempt by Elias Kachunga was only parried by Latics goalkeeper Jussi Jääskeläinen and it was Nahki Wells who reacted quickest to score from six yards in the 80th minute.

Huddersfield Town 1-0 Wigan Athletic - 02/01/2015

Another late winner for Town, which put them 11 points clear of the relegation zone and condemned the Latics to their fourth defeat in five games.

Conor Coady’s strike in the 82nd minute sealed the win for Town. He curled the ball into the top corner from the edge of the area.

Despite only winning 1-0, the Terriers did have two good chances before the goal. Both Nahki Wells and Mark Hudson had chances cleared off the line.

Huddersfield Town 1-0 Wigan Athletic - 08/02/2014

As coincidence would have it, this was also another late winner for The Terriers who scored an 85th minute goal through Adam Clayton.

Clayton’s strike from outside the box found its way into the bottom left corner, giving him his fourth goal of the season.

Huddersfield Town had an earlier chance when Oliver Norwood hit the bar with a 40-yard free-kick four minutes before Clayton got one past Ali Al-Habsi.

Huddersfield Town 2-1 Wigan Athletic - 12/04/1993

In-front of a 6,822 crowd at Leeds Road, Huddersfield Town beat Wigan Athletic 2-1!

Goals from Garry Barnett and Phil Starbuck helped the Terriers pick up all three points.
