With coronavirus currently postponing Huddersfield Town’s fixture list, we’ve decided to introduce you to some of our office staff – today we look at Senior Commercial Manager for Hospitality, Tracy Nelson!

In this special Q&A feature, supporters can learn more about the Club’s staff behind-the-scenes and how they might be able to help them in the future.

What is your job role at Huddersfield Town?

I’m the Senior Commercial Manager for Hospitality and I’m responsible for the Hospitality Department and brining revenue in through hospitality sales, seasonal such as boxes, Club Town, White Rose Club Membership and our Legends Club. I’m also responsible for the match day hospitality portfolio, which includes sponsorship packages, boxes and White Rose Club hospitality. Alongside this, I liaise with the caterers Kudos, and look after some long standard Club Partners.

What’s your favourite part of the job?

The most enjoyable part is turning our hospitality packages from paper into real life experiences for our customers. A small gesture can make a huge difference.

How long have you worked for Huddersfield Town?

Just over 20 years, I started in June 1999, and have seen plenty of changes along the way! I started in the Commercial Department looking after reactive sales, and then headed up the Blue and White Foundation introducing the first members back in 2003/04. I then went back to Commercial looking after everything including hospitality, events and advertising.

What’s your highlight working for Town?

Seeing the rise of Town through from League 2 back to the Championship, and of course our promotion to the Premier League, I’m very proud to have been a part of that!

Who do you work closely with at the Club?

Sam Horsman, we are a two-man team looking after hospitality. It is difficult finding gems, but we have one in Sam. I also have close links with John Williams and Tom Warburton who look after the partnerships side and the #100 Club, and not forgetting Jon MacDonald and Stef Maynard who look after our Advertising and Events Department. We are a close team and work well together. There are links with other departments, there has to be for the Club to operate efficiently.

And finally, tell us something interesting about yourself or your department?

I love everything Dracula! Yes really! And I have a great party piece!
