Huddersfield Town defender Harry Toffolo expressed his disappointment at the Terriers’ below-par performance against Luton Town.
Town were beaten 2-0 on home soil by the visiting Hatters after second half goals from Sonny Bradley and Elliot Lee at the John Smith’s Stadium.
Speaking to #HTTV after the game, Toffs insisted that the Terriers’ performance was “not good enough.”
“I felt like it was an evenly matched game in the first half, neither team created many chances, and nobody gave away many chances,” he said.
“But when you concede a goal from a set piece in a crucial point in the game it’s gutting.
“I’m not going to beat around the bushes, it’s not good enough.”
The result also meant a third successive game without finding the net for Town.
Toffs expressed his disappointment at the Terriers’ lack of output on the scoresheet but insists it’s something that they are working on.
“It’s something that we need to improve on.
“You can’t win a game if you can’t score.
“It’s been three games now without a goal, but we’re working on it.
“We need to make sure that we do the right preparation, get the ball in the box and give the strikers something to score with.”
With the quick turnaround of games under the current circumstances, Town only have to wait four days for an opportunity to put things right.
The defender insists Town have to be ready to go again when they head to Hillsborough to face Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday night.
“I don’t think it will be difficult (to pick ourselves up).
“We’ve got a game Tuesday now, we’ve got an extra day of recovery on top of Sheffield Wednesday so we have to use that to our advantage and get ourselves in a good place.
“We’ve played six games now, we’ve got three massive games to go.”
Tuesday’s short trip across to South Yorkshire is the first of Town’s final three Sky Bet Championship games this season.
With just two points between the Terriers and the relegation zone, Toffs says Town have to keep pushing as the season enters the final straight.
“We can’t get too down.
“We’ll go home, I’m sure there’ll be a lot of thinking and looking at ourselves.
“We have to keep going. There’s three games left, three winnable games for us and we have to go and get the points that we need.”
