Ahead of Huddersfield Town’s match against Luton Town, htafc.com is looking back at some of our most memorable wins over the Hatters!

Town have enjoyed some memorable victories both in West Yorkshire and on their travels to Luton Town in recent years.

Here are some of the best!

Luton Town 0-1 Huddersfield Town – 03/05/2008

Gerry Murphy’s Terriers rounded off the 2007/08 League 1 season with a narrow 1-0 victory over Luton Town at Kenilworth Road.

Phil Jevons scored the only goal of the game with less than 15 minutes left to play, to ensure Town finished the campaign with all three points and condemn already relegated Luton to another defeat.

The win meant that Town secured a top-half finish in the table on the final day of the season.

Huddersfield Town 2-0 Luton Town – 29/09/2007

Town responded to three straight losses in September 2007 with a 2-0 win over a visiting Luton Town side.

Forward Luke Beckett opened the scoring with his third goal of the season before summer signing Danny Cadamarteri grabbed the second in-front of the 9,028 inside the John Smith’s Stadium.

Beckett’s opening goal meant he had scored in each of Town’s first three victories of the season.

Luton Town 1-2 Huddersfield Town – 16/10/2004

Town were once again victorious at Kenilworth Road in October 2004, following a 2-1 victory during the 2004/05 League 1 campaign.

A superb solo effort from former Town forward Junior Mendes opened the scoring before his flick at the near post from a corner doubled the scores soon after.

The hosts did get a goal back in the second half, but Town held out to bring the three points back to West Yorkshire.

Huddersfield Town 1-0 Luton Town – 09/03/1996

The Terriers recorded their first win over the Hatters in over three decades with a 1-0 win back in March 1996.

Rob Edwards’ strike was enough to secure the win for Brian Horton’s Town during the 1995/96 First Division season.

Luton Town 3-4 Huddersfield Town – 02/09/1961

The 14,436 inside Kenilworth Road were treated to a goal-fest in the early-season encounter as Peter Dinsdale, Derek Stokes (2) and Pat Saward got on the scoresheet for Town.

The win saw Eddie Boot’s Town move up to fourth in the Division Two table after a positive start to the new season that saw just one defeat from five to that point.
