New Head Coach Carlos Corberán is looking forward to being in the home dugout during games at the John Smith’s Stadium next season.
In his first interview with #HTTV, Town’s new Head Coach spoke about his desire to create something special with the supporters during games at the Terriers’ home.
When looking ahead to seeing his side play in-front of the home fans, Carlos recalled his only previous visit to HD1; during Town’s match against Leeds United back in December 2019 when he was part of the Whites’ coaching team.
The 37-year-old looked back on that experience at the John Smith’s Stadium.
“I have a very positive remembrance of the atmosphere here in Huddersfield,” he recalled.
“In the game that we played with Leeds, I remember as Leeds coaches we suffered a little bit because Huddersfield made us feel like they had the desire to win this game.
“All I could feel was the crowd, it was very clear with the supporters, they were supporting the team.”
Having been in the away dugout on that day, Carlos will be in the one on the opposite side of the halfway line the next time he arrives at the John Smith’s Stadium for a game.
He’s hoping his side’s performances on the pitch can help to create a special atmosphere from the home fans, once supporters are allowed back into the Stadium on match days.
“I feel the English atmosphere is always amazing.
“It’s always special and I think in this Stadium we can build something together, something special together because when I was here, I felt the full support of the fans with their team.
“I feel this crowd keep with the team until the end and that’s something very positive that we will try to receive from our people by giving the best to them.”
