Huddersfield Town Women’s Manager is excited to be part of a historic first on Sunday 26 January 2020 when they take on Ipswich Town.

The SSE Women’s FA Cup Fourth Round match will be the Women’s first ever game at the John Smith’s Stadium.

“It’s excellent,” said Ashley Vickers, the Town Women’s Manager.

“Not only for the girls, I’m excited myself!

“I just think for the Club as a whole, not just ourselves, but everyone round Huddersfield.

“I think it gives a real perspective of where we’ve come from and where we’d obviously like to be in the future.

“It’s not about just playing there, we’ve got to make sure we’re going to perform on the day so that we can attract more people to come along week after week, not just for a one off.

“We’ve got to make sure we play the right game and make sure we get the win ultimately.”

Town’s Women come into the game off the back of a 12-0 win over Doncaster Belles, but their Manager admitted that Ipswich will be a tough team to compete against.

“They look a good young team.

“It’s the first time they’ve reached this round, we did that last year, so we are going to be favourites going into it, but we’re under no illusions that it’ll be a tough test come Sunday because they’ve got some good players.”

The game will kick-off at 1pm and Huddersfield Town supporters can attend!

Admission is priced at £5 for adults (Under-16s are free with a paying adult) and £3 for concessions (Under-16s and Over-60s), with every supporter asked to pay at the gate. The turnstiles will open at 12.30pm.

If the scores are level after 90 minutes, the match will go to extra-time and then penalties.
