Have you ever wondered what goes on behind-the-scenes during the week to support Huddersfield Town’s First Team and Academy?
Well, there’s some eye-opening and interesting statistics below to give you a fantastic insight into what goes on at the Club’s PPG Canalside Training Ground.
The Club’s Training Ground is operational 15 hours a day, 365 days a year – yes, that includes Christmas Day, New Year’s Day and all Bank Holidays? Why? To aid the First Team, the Academy, office staff and much more!
There’s more than just training that goes into preparing for the First Team or Academy players each week… it’s about the standard of pitches, the meals the players eat, the support staff around them and much more!
The Grounds Team at PPG Canalside works effortlessly around the clock to ensure that the pitches are at the highest quality, each walking 18 miles per week.
It’s key that we provide players with the best food for their recovery and energy levels. At PPG Canalside we get through an unbelievable 192 pints of milk per week, 260 chicken breasts per week and 200 eggs per day.
Hygiene is crucial when it comes ensuring everybody working at PPG is kept healthy and with that 820 litres of sanitiser is used per year. The Training Ground meets NHS standards in all areas.
The Kitmen also work hard to prepare the players the best they can. They wash 115 training kits daily.
PPG Canalside is made up of 168 members of staff; First Team staff, First Team players, Academy staff, Academy players, the Club’s Media and Marketing Department and operations staff like Groundsmen, Catering, Maintenance, Security and Cleaning.
