Academy striker Micah Obiero has signed a new contract at Huddersfield Town!

Micah has impressed since joining the Young Terriers midway through the 2016/17 campaign after a successful trial period from the XYZ Academy in Hackney, London.

The athletic forward progressed through the age groups at Town’s Academy, scoring regularly.

So far during the 2019/20 campaign, the 19-year-old has made 13 appearances and bagged seven goals.

He’s now put pen-to-paper on a new deal at Huddersfield Town, which will run until 30 June 2022. The Club have an option to extend it by a further year.

Huddersfield Town Academy Manager Leigh Bromby explained:

“Micah thoroughly deserves a new contract with us. He’s worked really hard with the coaches to improve his game and we’ve been able to see how he’s developing with us.

“He has the ability to help stretch the pitch, likes to run in-behind and is a good finisher. We are excited to see how he progresses.

“The challenge for Micah is making the next step into men’s football.”
