Lewis O’Brien is excited to get back to Sky Bet Championship action this weekend as Town prepares for another Yorkshire Derby!
The Terriers will travel to Oakwell to take on Barnsley this weekend and Town’s midfielder explained how positive the players are feeling ahead of the match.
“There’s a good buzz around the Training Ground for a Yorkshire Derby; it’s always a massive game. The feeling is good.
“Every game is as big as each other, in this league anyone can be anyone. They have been in good form since the new Manager came in, so it’ll be a good game.”
Earlier this season Town beat Barnsley 2-1 at the John Smith’s Stadium. However, they have since changed Managers, appointing Gerhard Struber in November.
Since he came in, he’s changed their style, which has led to an upturn in form.
“We can take confidence from beating them already, but that was a different Barnsley team,” admitted Lewis.
“They’ve brought a new Manager in and have a different style, so it’s a completely different Barnsley side we will face.
“I think they’ll be attacking, high pressing and energetic. We have to try and counteract that.”
After a very busy festive period, the players were given a couple of days rest following the Emirates FA Cup defeat to Southampton.
Lewis explained how important those days are for the players both mentally and physically.
“To get some days off after a busy period is very important. It’s good to go away and forget about football really.
“It’s good to go away and reset your body, reset your mind and come back fresh, ready to go again.
“Your body hurts after games, but your mind is also tired, so it’s good to rest both.”
