As Jonas Lössl re-joins Town we take a look back at some of his highlights from his time here!
The Denmark international first joined Town on a season-long loan from Bundesliga side 1. FSV Mainz 05 ahead of the 2017/18 season, with the option to complete a permanent transfer.
Town made his move permanent ahead of the 18/19 season following Jonas’ impressive campaign for the Terriers.
Lössl arrived at the John Smith’s Stadium with over 250 top-flight appearances under his belt in Denmark, France and Germany, as well as European and international experience.
The ‘keeper made an instant impact at the Club, so much so that he was nominated for EA Sports Premier League Player of the Month for August 2017. He was influential in the Club’s successful start to the 2017/18 season keeping three clean sheets in his opening three Premier League matches.
Jonas instantly became a favourite among the fans, winning the Blue & White Foundation’s December Player of the Month in 2017, just four months into his new campaign. He had an impressive start making 58 saves in 22 games, and bagging an assist after setting up Laurent Depoitre’s winner against Manchester United.
It therefore came as no surprise when he won the award again in his second season at the Club. His win for February 2019 came after 71 saves and four clean sheets up to that point. He put in a stellar performance away at Newcastle United, and kept a clean sheet in the home win against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
