Huddersfield Town midfielder Emile Smith Rowe was happy to make his debut at the John Smith’s Stadium during today’s draw against Brentford.

“I think it was a very physical game; Brentford are a very strong team and we knew that coming into the game,” Emile commented.

“I’m really happy to make my debut and I think the lads dug deep together today.”

Emile’s debut was in front of 20,824 fans at the John Smith’s Stadium – a day he admits he won’t forget.

“It was a crazy experience.

“The fans were great – I got a standing ovation coming off before the game as well.

“I’m really happy to meet the fans and I’m very happy to make my debut for the Club.”

The game didn’t have the easiest of starts for the Terriers, but Emile discussed how they came back in the second half to hold on for a point per side.

“It was very difficult to attack in the first half, but we defended well, stayed compact, and I think in the second half we started to stretch it more.

“We got our key players on the ball and created a couple of chances. Overall, we’re happy to get the point.”

He continued:

“I think at this level in the second half the game always stretches a little.

“I think in the second half we looked so much more confident on the ball, we started making combinations and linking up well.

“In the second half we really showed what we’re about.”
