Young attacking midfielder Emile Smith Rowe is ready to test himself in the Sky Bet Championship after joining Huddersfield Town on loan.

The 19-year-old has featured for Arsenal in both the Premier League and the Europa League this season, but now wants to push for regular First Team football.

When speaking to #HTTV for the first time, the creative midfielder explained how excited he is to get started.

“I’m very happy to be here. It was important for me to get this opportunity and it’s a great chance for me to play.

“When you’re at a big club at Arsenal there’s so many top players, so it’s difficult to get into the team. To get the opportunity to come here is great.

“I’m happy and can’t wait to get started. For me, it’s about getting consistent minutes.

“I expect the league (Sky Bet Championship) to be very physical; there’s a lot of strong teams in the league.

“I’ve got to get used to it quickly, there’s a lot of games, so yeah, I’m excited and I know it’ll be hard, but I’m up for the challenge.”

Before joining Town, Emile had a long conversation with Manager Danny Cowley about the role he could play this season.

“I spoke to Danny and he told me that he’d like to play me in the number 10 or in one of the 8s, both are my preferred positions,” smiled the 19-year-old. “He’s put a lot of faith in me and I can’t wait to get started.”

“Huddersfield Town have a lot of great players. The 4-2-3-1 is a good formation for me to get into the 10 position. I can’t wait to meet the players and get training.

“I know a few players; Jaden Brown, he played at Tottenham, so we used to have a little rivalry and Karlan Grant as well.

“I’m sure the lads will welcome me. It’ll help me get comfortable, when I’m more comfortable, I’ll come out my shell more. I’d like to link up with all the players, it’s good for me and the team.”

What should Huddersfield Town fans expect from the Arsenal loanee? Well, he detailed what his key strengths are.

“I like to drive with the ball, create chances and score goals for the team. I like linking up all the time too; creating, scoring, driving with the ball.”
