Right-back Danny Simpson was disappointed that Huddersfield Town let their lead slip against Stoke City.
The Terriers responded from going a goal behind by taking the lead early in the second half. However, despite going a goal ahead Town were beaten 5-2 at the John Smith’s Stadium.
Danny held up his hands for the first goal that Town conceded as he gave his thoughts on the game.
“It’s obviously disappointing. The first half wasn’t great.
“At half-time I held my hands up for my mistake, me and Bacca didn’t communicate, sometimes it happens. I thought he was going to kick it, he thought I was going to kick it, and then one of you tries to kick it and it falls in their lap. It happens. I’ve been in the game long enough to move on from that.
“We spoke at half-time and had the reaction we all wanted in the second half. All of a sudden, we were 2-1 up.
“The most disappointing thing from the game today is that even though the first half was so poor, we found ourselves 2-1 up in the second.
“The next 10 minutes after that is key because you’re at home. It’s so key from that point to stay at 2-1 and let the game settle again because then you’re in control. We have to learn from that.
“You find yourself in a position where you’re 2-1 up at home, the crowd were buzzing, it gave us a lift on the pitch because it’s been a tough couple of weeks.
“I’m not sure on the decision from the ref that lead to the second goal, it looked like a foul for me, I’ll have to have a look.
“The third one, look I’ve held my hands up for the first one and I’m sure Kamil will do the same, he doesn’t need to come out.
“Then the game has swung again. Our crowd were flat, understandably, can’t believe we were 3-2 down. You have to go again, but I don’t feel after that it was going to go in our favour.”
