Huddersfield Town Manager Danny Cowley has taken the First Team back to basics ahead of Saturday’s game against Brentford.
Town go into the game off the back of a 2-1 defeat to Barnsley last Saturday, but are ready to go again at the John Smith’s Stadium.
“We’re hurting, but we’re reenergised,” said Danny Cowley.
“We’ve had a good week, I feel like we’ve stripped it back and gone back to basics and we’re looking forward to the game on Saturday and trying to be better than we were last Saturday against Barnsley.”
Town’s Manager admitted that Brentford are a strong team and will be tough to compete against.
“We’re very respectful of Brentford.
“For me, they’re one of the best teams in the division – I thought that going into the first game and I think that now.
“I think they’ve added to their game, I think they’ve got the best front three in the league who have had the benefit of working consistently together and have now developed a really good understanding.
“They have an excellent manager and they’re playing a possession based game and ask an awful lot of questions against the ball.
“I’ve watched lots and lots of them over this week, they play West Brom and had near on 70-75% possession – you don’t do that unless you’re a good team.”
Danny Cowley also revealed the fitness of his squad after the hectic schedule has come to an end.
“I think this is the best place the group has been in physically, that sometimes happens when you have more competition for places!
“Matty Daly’s just picked up a contact injury that we’re aware of.
“Obviously Alex Pritchard is ongoing, we’re desperately trying to resolve that because he’s such an important player for us.”
