Huddersfield Town Manager Danny Cowley was proud of his players after the 2-1 win over Hull City.

The Terriers performed valiantly to beat the Tigers at the KCOM Stadium as Steve Mounié scored a last-minute winner.

When speaking to #HTTV after the game, Danny explained how delighted he was with his side.

“We were proud of the boys and their efforts,” smile Town’s Manager.

“It was a game that ebbed and flowed. We did well first half and were pleased to go in 1-0 up.

“We came out in the second half and played really, really well; some of the best football we’ve played. We needed to be more ruthless in that moment because we could’ve made it easier for ourselves, there were opportunities to score a second or a third.

“We conceded a really soft goal from a set piece, which knocked us back. They got the momentum and went really direct, went to a back three, put two big’uns upfront, forced it forward quickly and had the energy in the game.

“Credit to our players because maybe two, four or eight weeks ago we’d have gone under. We showed real substance tonight and came through that period.

“The break in play allowed us to get re-organised and we change the pressing shape to press with a three, which stopped them going so quickly forward.

“The boys implemented it brilliantly, so credit goes to them. A really good win for us.”

A number of Huddersfield Town supporters came to the KCOM Stadium to cheer on Danny Cowley’s side and the Club’s Manager was glad he could send them home happy.

“We appreciate the supporters’ effort, to get here on a freezing cold January night.

“We know the efforts they made to get here after work and we completely appreciate that.

“I hope they appreciated the players effort because they gave everything for the cause tonight. It was a good night for us and if you want to be a good team you have to find a way to win away from home.

“This was an important win for our season for sure.”

Unfortunately, Town ‘keeper Kamil Grabara was stretchered off during the game after a clash with Christopher Schindler.

Town’s Manager gave an update on his health.

“Kamil has gone to hospital. He was knocked unconscious; it was a really worrying moment. He’s gone to hospital, is in good care and we hope for the best. We don’t know any more at this point.”
