CARRIER BAG CHARGE INTRODUCED

Megastore to benefit Town Foundation through Carrier Bag charge

- Carrier Bags will now cost 10p at Town’s Retail Outlets
- Proceeds will benefit the Huddersfield Town Foundation
- Comments from Retail Manager Luke Cowan

Huddersfield Town’s Megastore has now introduced a Carrier Bag charge to help reduce single use plastics.

If you purchase a gift or product from Town’s Megastore, the Terrier Store or the Packhorse Centre Store and would like a bag, then it’ll now cost 10p.

The proceeds from this will directly benefit the Town Foundation and their Early Kick-Off Breakfast Clubs, making a difference to people’s lives in our community.

The decision was taken after a discussion with the Huddersfield Town Supporters’ Association (HTSA) as we aim to reduce single used plastics.

Huddersfield Town’s Retail Manager, Luke Cowan, commented:

“As a Football Club we are always trying to do the right thing and by introducing this charge we will be helping to reduce single use plastics and benefitting the Town Foundation.

“The proceeds raised from this will have a positive impact on our local and the wider community.

“I would also like to thank the HTSA for their support and we are happy to make this decision in conjunction with them.”
