LOAN: ACADEMY SIGNS STRIKER KIERAN PHILLIPS

Everton forward joins on loan for the season

- Huddersfield Town Academy signs Kieran Phillips
- Striker joins on an initial loan until end of the season
- Comments from Academy Manager Leigh Bromby

The Huddersfield Town Academy has completed the loan signing of striker Kieran Phillips after a successful trial period.

The 19-year-old striker will join the Young Terriers from Premier League side Everton on an initial loan until the end of the 2019/20 season.

Kieran, who was with the Town Academy as a youngster before moving to Everton as an Under-13 player, scored against Celtic as a trialist for the Elite Development Team earlier this week; the second of two games he played under Academy Manager Leigh Bromby.

Huddersfield Town Academy Manager Leigh Bromby commented:

“Kieran was identified through the Club’s recruitment process - at the same time as Jaden Brown - as a player who we could really develop as part of our Elite Development group.

“We couldn’t agree a deal with Everton at that point, but we’ve kept a close eye on him ever since and moved quickly to take this opportunity once it arose.

“We see loads of potential in him. He’ll get a lot of minutes on the pitch within our games programme and we’ll work hard to improve all areas of his game.”
