ROWE FOCUSED ON REGULAR MINUTES AHEAD OF RANGERS

Town Under-19s will travel to Scotland to take on Rangers

- Aaron Rowe discusses how he has found settling back in after injuries
- Young Terrier enjoys analysing his own performances
- Town’s Under-19s face Rangers on Saturday 25 January 2020; 11am kick-off

Huddersfield Town youngster Aaron Rowe is happy to be getting regular game time after what has been an injury hit campaign for him so far.

Aaron impressed in Town’s Academy last season, which led to appearances in the Premier League. However, after suffering a few injury setbacks, his game time with the Young Terriers has been limited.

The midfielder opened up about how much better it is to now be playing football again as well as learning the right-back role.

“Obviously, being injured isn’t the best feeling, but I have been playing a few more games recently and I’m getting my confidence back.

“I just can’t wait to get going again, playing game after game to just get as many minutes under my belt as possible; it’s good to be back.

“I actually don’t mind playing right back or right wing. If I am on the wing then I prefer to be on the left, but I am a full-back now too, so being versatile is the best thing in order to be available for any position.”

Rowe and his teammates do a lot of work looking back at their own individual performances as well as the team’s performance after the game.

The youngster admitted how much he enjoys that process and how it speeds up his learning.

“After most games, we pick out what we did well and what we can improve on and see what we did well as a team, we share it with the team so that we can be better for the next game.

“It has massively helped my learning, just watching over your own performances and seeing what went wrong, so you can improve. It’s also about what went well though; that’s huge for us too.”

The Young Terrier could be back in action tomorrow as Town’s Under-19s face Rangers. He explained how important it is to play against top sides.

“Rangers is going to be a tough game for us as they are obviously a good side, but we have a strong team and aim to go for the win.

“It’s always good to play against the best teams and challenge ourselves, it’s always challenging to play against the top teams.

“It is also a challenge for us to see how we react and see how well we play against the Elite sides; even though they might stronger than us, we’ve got to just get our heads down and keep going.”

Town’s Under-19s face Rangers tomorrow (Saturday 25 January 2020) in their latest game.

The match will kick-off at 11am at the Hummel Training Centre (Glasgow, G62 6EH) and Huddersfield Town supporters can attend!
