Huddersfield Town Under-17s Pat Jones is seeing strides in his playing style since becoming a Young Terrier!

Jones joined the Club’s Under-17 set-up from Wrexham’s Academy.

After working closely with Town’s coaches, he was quick to address how he has found Town’s Academy in comparison.

“It’s quite a big step up from where I was before, but I’m enjoying it and I think I’m excelling.

“It’s a lot more professional here – we train more often, it’s more intense, the games programme is better.

“I’ve learnt a lot about different playing styles and how to hold yourself around other people and around the Club.

“I’ve also learnt a lot of different tactics and different movements which are helping my game. I’m always learning and developing my game.”

The 17-year-old already knew teammate Robson Shipley before joining the Young Terriers from his international call-ups to Wales. He discussed how that helped him settle in, as well as how playing for Wales has helped develop him as a player.

“It definitely helped knowing someone, it helped me settle in a bit better.

“He’s been great with me and we get on really well, he’s definitely helped me out.

“Playing for Wales has helped me a lot because you play against even better players because it’s the best from all the countries around the world.

“It’s different but it’s definitely improved me because you have to adapt to different scenarios and different countries with different food.

“It’s definitely improved me as a player both on and off the pitch.”

You can watch Pat Jones and his teammates in action on Saturday (8 February 2020) when they travel to take on Notts County at Highfields Playing Fields, Nottingham (NG7 2PS).

Kick-off is 11.30am and Huddersfield Town supporters are welcome to attend.
