Huddersfield Town midfielder Trevoh Chalobah was buzzing with the Terriers’ performance after their 4-0 win over Charlton on Saturday.
Two goals from Karlan Grant against his former employers, as well as strikes from Steve Mounié and Juninho Bacuna sent Town cruising to victory and speaking afterwards Trevoh told how important he felt the victory was.
“It was a fantastic win for us,” he said. “The boys carried on the brilliant performance we had in the last game and took it into today.
“It was good to get goals, and four today is good for the team, the boys have done well and played really good football to create the chances.
“Everyone is buzzing because we knew how important this game was.”
Victory against The Addicks means Town have secured back-to-back home wins for the first time since November, after defeating Bristol City in midweek, and Chalobah believes that the Club now have a great opportunity to turn the John Smith’s Stadium into a fortress.
“That would be the most important thing for us, to just to keep showing ourselves and the fans how well we can play every week and if we play like that every week then yes, I believe we can.”
Before the next home match, however, we face a trip to fierce rivals and promotion chasers Leeds United, and our midfielder has revealed what he thinks the side need to do if they stand a chance of going to Elland Road and causing an upset.
“We need to make sure we’re defensive, that we’re set up right. We know the quality and threat that Leeds have on the counter attack so we need go there with the same mindset as today but then also be defensively aware of them on the counter-attack.”
