Christopher Schindler believes the win over QPR was a very important one for Huddersfield Town in the Sky Bet Championship.

That win means the Terriers are now six points above the relegation zone with 15 games remaining this season.

When speaking after the game, Town’s Captain explained how the opening goal spurred the lads on.

“It was a very important win for us. In our situation every three points is really important.

“After a good second half performance against Fulham, we wanted to bring that into this game.

“We started really well, we got some turnovers in their box, but we didn’t make the most out of it.

“In the close of the first half, we had some problems with Eze, which put us on the back foot. We hung on and went in 0-0 at half time.

“Second half, we wanted to play with more intensity, and then scored an important goal, which was key to this game. After that we looked really good and it was a deserved win.”

The win also meant that Town have had consecutive clean sheets at the John Smith’s Stadium.

“It’s a good side effect and the base for a win,” smiled the defender.

“We were lacking in the last game at Fulham away.

“Over the majority of the game we looked solid at the back and this was the base. I’m glad we converted this good performance defensively into points.”

There have been a number of changes to the First Team squad recently and Schindy explained how the new players have benefitted the group.

“We brought in some great characters and experienced players.

“When you see what the subs today did, when they came on, you can see everyone puts his ego back and puts the team as the main focus; this is how it’s supposed to be, especially in our situation.

“I can’t say it often enough, the only thing that helps you when you struggle with results, is that you know you have a squad together that can rely on each other, even if you make a mistake, you know someone is there to help you out. We have this now.”
