Emile Smith Rowe is ready to face his old England U17 Manager and teammates this weekend as Huddersfield Town travel to Swansea City.

The 19-year-old was part of Steve Cooper’s squad for two major tournaments as the Young Lions impressed on the big stages.

Part of the same team was Rhian Brewster, who is currently on loan at Swansea City.

When speaking ahead of the game, Emile looked fondly back on his time with England’s Under-17s.

“Steve (Cooper) coached me at Under-17s for England when we went to the Euros and the World Cup; they were both great experiences.

“We got to the final of the Euros and won the World Cup in India. It was an unbelievable experience and I’m grateful I got the opportunity to play in the England team.

“I haven't spoke to Rhian yet, but I probably will ahead of the game; I’m quite close with him. They’ve got Marc (Guehi) and Conor (Gallagher) we all went to the World Cup together; it’ll be good to see them too.”

Swansea City currently sit 11th in the Sky Bet Championship, five points off the Play-Off places. However, they come into the game without a win in five.

Town’s attacking midfielder explained what he expects from the Swans.

“I watched them a few times and they like to play football. They’ve got some very good technical players, so we expect them to have a lot of possession.

“The game is all about us, we go there confident and can’t wait to get going.”

The Town fans have really taken to Emile since his arrival in West Yorkshire and he explained how much that means to him.

“I loved the fans from the first day I came here. To get the support I get from the fans is an unbelievable feeling. I’m proud and very grateful.”
