Huddersfield Town Manager Danny Cowley is happy with the progress his side has made over the last few weeks.

The Terriers have picked up seven points from their last four games and put in four good performances.

When speaking to the press, Danny detailed the challenge he set his players for the Cardiff City game.

“We look like we’re making inroads and steps in the right direction, which is a real positive. There’s still a long way to go to where we want to be, but we are seeing progress.

“The aim now is to take that second half performance, and the performance after we scored, into the Cardiff game and to try and start with that confidence; that’s the challenge we’ve given the group.”

Storm Ciara has been in full force leading up to the Cardiff City game. Town’s Manager explained how important it is to consider how the weather conditions may affect the match.

“We’re in a pretty good place in terms of the group. We all trained today in some difficult overhead conditions, but we had some good fun in the cold weather.

“We’ve worked hard in the last couple of days; it’s been challenging but the ground staff have done excellently to protect the pitch overnight. I think we had everything this morning, some wind, some rain, some hail, some snow, but we’ve been able to train.

“You always have to plan and prepare for all the variables. I think the weather had an affect on Saturday. In the first half we played into a strong headwind, the second half was easier as the wind was on our tail. That allowed us to get higher up the pitch, press more aggressively and the opposition found it harder to go over our press.

“I think you have to be aware of the conditions and use them in your favour.”

Neil Harris was appointed as Cardiff City Manager in mid-November and has helped push the Bluebirds up the Sky Bet Championship table.

Danny Cowley, who faced Harris earlier this season, explained what Town can expect from the promotion hopefuls.

“We’ve played a Neil Harris team once already this season, when he was Millwall Manager. It’ll be good to see him again. He’s someone we know well.

“He’s done a fantastic job as Cardiff City Manager; Neil Warnock wouldn’t have been an easy man to follow.

“He’s gone in and made them very competitive. They’ve only lost two games since he’s been there. They’ve picked up some wins recently, maybe a few more draws than he’d have liked, but some wins recently.

“They’re right on the verge of the Play-Offs. We anticipate a really tough game.

“It’s a game we are looking forward to and looking to build on a good performance and result against QPR.”

Top scorer Karlan Grant missed the win over QPR. Town’s Manager gave an update on his fitness and the other players who are close to a return.

“We’re hopeful, as always, Karlan will be back tomorrow; he’s an important player for us.

“Kamil (Grabara) is still off at the moment, he’s back in the building tomorrow. We’ve had a good couple of conversations on the phone. It’ll be good to see him.

“Alex (Pritchard) is training with the group, which is great. He’s trained fully the last two days. He’s looked really bright, which is a massive plus. We are delighted to have him back and available.”
