Town have enjoyed some memorable 26 December wins over the years.

Here are some of our favourites!

Huddersfield Town 2-0 Grimsby Town – 26/12/1998

Town were victorious at home on Boxing Day 1998.

Town broke the deadlock in the second half, with that season’s top goal scorer Marcus Stewart giving Town the Terriers the lead over Grimsby Town in the 53rd minute.

Chris Beech bagged Town’s second goal.

Darlington 0-1 Huddersfield Town – 26/12/2003

In 2003 Huddersfield Town left the Reynolds Arena with all three points.

Andy Booth scored the only goal of the game in the 28th minute.

Huddersfield Town 2-1 Port Vale – 26/12/2004

The Terriers beat Port Vale 2-1 at the then Galpharm Stadium on Boxing Day 2004.

Town took the lead after just four minutes, when Danny Schofield found the back of the net. Pawel Abbott doubled Town’s lead just four minutes later.

The visitors managed to pull one back thanks to Simon Eldershaw but weren’t able to take the three points from the hosts.

Huddersfield Town 1-0 Chesterfield – 26/12/2011

In 2011, Huddersfield Town were victorious against Chesterfield after a narrow 1-0 win.

The only goal of the game came from Jordan Rhodes in the 34th minute.

Huddersfield Town 2-1 Nottingham Forest – 26/12/2016

The Terriers beat Nottingham Forest 2-1 at the John Smith’s Stadium on Boxing Day 2016.

They came from behind to equalise when Kasey Palmer’s header off the bar hit Forest’s ‘keeper and crossed the line.

Town took the lead just six minutes later thanks to Michael Mancienne, who turned the ball into his own net.

The win meant that Huddersfield Town ended 2016 in the Sky Bet Championship Play-Off places with their fourth straight win.
