Town responded well to the opener. Brahima Diarra played the ball to Jaheim Headley, but the linesman flagged for offside.
Minutes later Etienne Camara provided Sam Sharrock-Peplow with the ball. However, Brentford’s Ellery Balcombe was quick off his line to clear the danger.
However, it was the hosts who scored the next goal, doubling their lead in the 20th minute. One of their two trialists found the back of the net from close range following a corner.
Town were forced into an early change just after the half an hour mark. Jaheim Headley was injured, and consequently replaced by Myles Bright.
