Huddersfield Town defender Naby Sarr praised the Terriers’ character to rally to a late 2-1 win over Blackburn Rovers in the Sky Bet Championship.
After Sam Gallagher’s equaliser for the visitors had cancelled out Sarr’s first of the evening, the defender popped up again to secure all three points for Town in the final moments of the game.
He praised the effort of the team to get the three points when speaking to #HTTV post-match.
“That was a really hard battle today against a very good side,” he said.
“It was a very difficult game, but the lads put in an unbelievable effort and showed great character to keep going until the end.
“We got the reward of all the hard work of the game.”
The defender’s goals on the evening were his second and third for the Club since signing in the summer.
He talked through the winner that ensured the Terriers would round off 2020 with all three points on home soil.
“I saw an opportunity, Pipa gave me a really good pass, and I tried to finish it as good as I could.
“Today I was lucky it went in.”
Sarr’s second of the game also secured a fifth successive win at the John Smith’s Stadium for Town, something the defender says the Terriers can take plenty of confidence from.
“We all feel confident in here.
“It’s been five in a row now - we have to keep working and keep this going.
“I think with these five wins, teams are going to come here and think about it.
“That’s good for us going forward.”
