LOAN: JOSH AUSTERFIELD JOINS HYDE UNITED

14 December 2020

Midfielder to gain further senior experience

- Josh Austerfield leaves Huddersfield Town on loan
- Midfielder joins Hyde United on 28-day loan spell
- Comments from Academy Manager Emyr Humphreys

Huddersfield Town youngster Josh Austerfield has joined BetVictor Northern Premier League side Hyde United on loan to gain a further test of senior football.

Austerfield, who made his competitive Town debut earlier this season in the Carabao Cup against Rochdale, has joined Northern Premier League side Hyde United on a 28-day loan spell.

This is the 19-year-old’s second loan move away from Town after his first at Brighouse Town.

Hyde United currently sit 17th in the seventh tier of English football with six points from their first six games.

Josh will continue to train with Huddersfield Town full-time before linking up with Hyde United for matches.

Huddersfield Town’s Academy Manager, Emyr Humphreys, commented:

“Josh has worked hard in our Academy set-up and we believe this is a really good opportunity for him.

“We have no doubt that Josh will continue to do well at Huddersfield and so want him to have increased exposure of the physicality of men’s football.

“This loan move is a great step for him in his development as a footballer and really gives him a chance to show what he can do. I can’t wait to see him excel.”
