Huddersfield Town winger Isaac Mbenza says the Terriers 2-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday will give them plenty of confidence going forward in the Sky Bet Championship.

Victory in the Yorkshire derby was Town’s second in the space of four days at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Speaking post-match, Isaac explained how important the win was to the dressing room.

“It’s good for the team, it’s another win. It’s good for the confidence,” he said.

“It wasn’t any easy game, but we won and got a clean sheet so it’s good for the team.”

A stunning free-kick from the winger doubled Town’s advantage midway through the first half in West Yorkshire.

It’s Isaac’s third goal this season, two of which have come directly from free-kicks, something he works hard on after training.

“I’m very happy because I helped the team to get the three points.

“It was another free-kick so it’s good for me and good for the team because we won again. I put in practice in on them after training and I scored today so it’s all good.

With three points in the bag, next up for Town is a trip to the South Coast to face AFC Bournemouth on Saturday.

Isaac says the Terriers already have their sights on that visit to the Vitality Stadium at the weekend.

“It’s good but we need to stay focused because every game is not easy.

“We need to forget this game now; we have another game in four days, so it comes around quick.”
