Huddersfield Town midfielder Juninho Bacuna shared his disappointment following the Terriers’ 2-1 defeat to Barnsley at Oakwell.
The Terriers had gone ahead in the first half through Rarmani Edmonds-Green but two goals from Michał Helik, including a 93rd minute winner, saw Town come away from South Yorkshire empty-handed.
Bacca expressed his disappointment with the loss and the stoppage time goal when speaking to #HTTV post-match.
“We put a lot of effort in defence. Conceded in the first half a silly goal and I think we weren’t fully concentrating (at the end),” the midfielder said.
“Normally, it wouldn’t happen with us.
“With the guys we’ve got and the effort we put in on defence, it can’t happen. We need to stay concentrated until the last second of the game.
“We are a competitive team; we give everything, so we’re all disappointed."
One positive from the Boxing Day clash for the Terriers was young defender Rarmani Edmonds-Green’s first goal for the Club.
It’s was a well-deserved moment for Rams, says Bacca.
“It’s nice as a young guy who’s now playing a few games.
“It will give us more confidence going forward to the next games and we need it as a team.
“He’s playing good, he needs to keep working hard.”
Next up for Town is the visit of Blackburn Rovers to the John Smith’s Stadium in just three days’ time for the Terriers’ final game of 2020.
Bacca is looking for a response to finish the year on a high.
“We need to (go away and) analyse the two goals – it can’t happen with us.
“We have to switch on to the next game now, it’s just around the corner.
“We need to be fully focused on that to get the three points.”
