Club to make donation for every Danny Ward shirt printing
- Danny Ward to take number 25 in honour of Jordan Sinnott
- Club to make donation for every replica printed with ‘Ward 25’
- £5 from each shirt printed going to the Jordan Sinnott Foundation
Danny Ward will wear the number 25 shirt in the upcoming 2020/21 Sky Bet Championship season in honour of his friend and teammate Jordan Sinnott.
Academy graduate Jordan, who tragically lost his life at the age of 25 in January 2020, was a teammate of Ward at Town between 2011 and 2015, and the pair remained close following their departures from the Club.
To honour Jordan, Danny has asked to wear 25 upon his return to the Terriers.
In support of Danny’s decision, the Club has pledged to donate £5 to the Jordan Sinnott Foundation every time a supporter gets ‘WARD 25’ or ‘SINNOTT 25’ on the back of one of the 2020/21 replica shirt; either the home, away or third kit.
The Jordan Sinnott Foundation has been setup by Jordan’s family and friends, including many of his former Town teammates, to raise funds for causes that he was passionate about. These include supporting those who are homeless or sleeping rough and helping people from disadvantaged backgrounds access sport.
The Foundation also aims to raise awareness around brain injuries and the use of violence, so that other families don't have to go through the pain that Jordan's family have felt.
Huddersfield Town Chairman Phil Hodgkinson explained:
“When Danny re-joined the Club and helped us to launch our replica kits, discussing the tragic death of Jordan naturally came up as we knew how close they were.
“Danny is involved in helping the Jordan Sinnott Foundation and this idea quickly came up from our staff. We’re obviously keen to help his family as they get their Foundation off the ground and this gives our supporters the chance to contribute in a meaningful way too.
“I’m sure this initiative will really take off and make a real difference to the causes that Jordan held dear.”
