Winger heads out to experience regular First Team football

- Will McCamley joins South Shields on loan
- Young winger to gain regular senior football
- Comments from Academy Manager Emyr Humphreys

Huddersfield Town Academy winger Will McCamley has joined South Shields on loan.

The loan spell at the Northern Premier League Premier Division side will run until Friday 1 January 2021.

The 19-year-old midfielder actually joined Town’s Academy from South Shields’ Academy in March 2019 after a successful trial period.

The young winger spent the 2019/20 campaign as part of Town’s Under-19 squad and really came into form following the turn of the year.

He will now return to the seventh-tier club to gain his first taste of senior men’s football.

Huddersfield Town’s Academy Manager Emyr Humphreys commented:

“It’s always been part of Will’s long-term plan to go on loan this season, to get more regular exposure to the physicality of men’s football.

“Will really improved for the Under-19s last season and finished very strongly before the lockdown so we’re all excited to see how he progresses this year.

“South Shields is a club that Will knows really well, and he will be able to fit in there straight away.

“Alongside playing and training with them, we will also be able to monitor his progress here at Canalside as he will continue to work regularly with our Under-19s and B Team.

“We look forward to seeing him impress!”
