Who do you think made Steve Mounié’s five-a-side team?

The Huddersfield Town striker was tasked with naming a side made up of players that he’s played with during his career.

Here’s who he selected:

No Goalkeeper!

I don’t have a goalkeeper because I feel like we don’t need it! There’s so many good players on my team, we don’t need a ‘keeper.

Vitorino Hilton – Defender

He’s a centre-back who played for Olympique de Marseille and Montpellier as well; I played with him at Montpellier. He’s the smartest defender I’ve ever seen. He’s 42 years old at the minute and still playing. He’s the best defender I’ve seen. Vitorino Hilton, remember that name!

Stéphane Sessègnon – Midfielder

I played with him at Montpellier and my National Team, Benin. He’s the best played I’ve ever played with. He’s mental. His skills, capacity to keep the ball, create chances as well. He’s unbelievable. He can change a game by himself. He didn’t have the career he deserved.

Ellyes Skhiri – Midfielder

I played with him at Montpellier and he plays for 1. FC Köln in the Bundesliga. I picked him because he has interception skills. To regain the ball, he’s the best. His legs are so long, it’s so hard to get past him. I picked him to get the ball back and to give it to my strikers.

Renaud Ripart - Striker

I played with him at Nîmes Olympique. This guy is the kind of player who never gives up on the pitch. On the pitch, in my five a side team, I need someone like that. Someone who will never give up, run like hell everyone to get the ball and to try and score. Even if he has to score with his head, while the defender tries to kick it away. He will do that and that’s why I picked him.

Karlan Grant – Striker

When you need to score a goal, you need Karlan Grant in your team. I played with him last season and this season, and I barely see strikers scoring that many goals. I’ve never played with a striker who has scored that many times in that many games.
