Young Terriers to face Liverpool, Sunderland and Wigan

- Huddersfield Town’s Premier League Cup dates confirmed

Huddersfield Town’s youngsters will face Liverpool, Sunderland and Wigan Athletic in Group F of the Premier League Cup between October and February.

The Young Terriers, led by Dean Whitehead, qualified for the group stage after beating Oxford United by four goals at the John Smith’s Stadium and have been rewarded with six further games against high-quality opposition.

Town will play two home games at the John Smith’s Stadium, with the third being hosted by neighbours Guiseley at their Nethermoor Park ground.

The Premier League Cup is a competition for Under-23 players, although clubs are permitted to play three overage outfielders and an overage goalkeeper if they choose.

There are 32 teams split across eight groups at the current stage, with the top two teams in each group qualifying for the knockout stage.

Prices for the fixtures will be confirmed in due course.
