Huddersfield Town defender Jaden Brown explained how the hard work in training is starting to reap the rewards on a match day.
The young defender made his first start under the Cowley brothers as the Terriers drew 1-1 with Millwall at the John Smith’s Stadium.
When speaking after the game, Jaden explained how the hard training sessions are paying off on the pitch.
“We are disappointed not to win the game and get the three points, but there’s positives to take from the game,” said Jaden.
“I thought second half we came out strong and could’ve scored a few goals.
“I think we are being more aggressive, and we are fitter, so we can press harder and higher up the pitch.
“Today we won the ball up the pitch and we got a goal from it. There’s positives and things are working from training.”
Jaden came back into the starting XI this afternoon and explained how he grew into the game.
“He (Danny Cowley) told me to lock down on the wingers and be aggressive, from training I feel fitter, so it was easier to do that in the game.
“At first it was hard, they were trying to put the ball on my head coming down my side from goal kicks.
“Once I won two headers, it got easier, the ‘keeper started to go the other side and kicked central, it helped once I got into the game.”
Millwall equalised with moments to go in the first half after Matt Smith bundled the ball in from a corner.
The youngster explained why he was so frustrated to concede that type of goal.
“We spoke all week that most of their goals come from corners, so that was disappointing that we couldn’t stop it, but that’s football, we came out in the second half looking strong.”
