Huddersfield Town Manager Danny Cowley is looking forward to this weekend’s Sky Bet Championship game against West Bromwich Albion after a positive week on the training pitch.
The Cowleys had a full week on the grass to get across their ideas and to prepare for the trip to the Hawthorns.
When speaking to the press, Town’s Manager explained how happy he has been with the players’ training week.
“I think its been a productive week. We’ve certainly worked hard. Players attitude and application has been excellent.
“I think we took a lot of learning from the Sheffield Wednesday game, which we knew we would, and we tried to take that learning onto the training pitch.
“It’s about constant rehearsal. For us its about trying to affect the players physically and mentally and also technically and tactically. We’ve tried to affect them across all of those areas over the last few days.”
It was also another week for the Cowley brothers to get to know his player both on the pitch and on a personal level.
He explained what individual work he has been doing with some of the players and how they fit into his team.
“We always believe that defending is an 11-man job. At times I think Florent Hadergjonaj has been left exposed.
“We’ve spent some time doing individual work with him on one vs one defending and movement patterns.
“Terence, he is two players to me. I think he can play at centre half, left of a back three and I think he can play left back.
“What do I see in Lewis O’Brien? I just see the DNA of the Club. Working class boy, working class values, a fighter.
“A consistent reliable performer who’s going to give you everything he’s got and he’s going to run really hard. His heart is with the Club.”
Town’s Manager detailed the latest team news ahead of this weekend’s game.
“I think Collin (Quaner) is struggling, he’s the only one that is 100% unavailable on Sunday.”
Danny also gave his views on the upcoming match against the Baggies detailing what he expects from them.
“West Brom are unbeaten so going to the Hawthorns will not be easy, they’ve got a good record there.
“We’re pretty clear on how they play. We understand where their strengths are. They’ve certainly got a very good front four, with all different qualities. The two wide players in that front four are a real threat, especially in open space.
“So, we understand where their strengths are but like all teams, they have moments of weakness.
“They’re a very good team so they have less moments of weakness than other teams, but certainly we know where those moments of weakness are.”
