Huddersfield Town Manager Danny Cowley explained that his players’ confidence is growing day by day.

The Terriers are still looking for their first win of the season and face bottom side Stoke City on Tuesday night at the bet365 Stadium.

When speaking to the press, Town’s Manager explained that there’s no nervousness in the dressing room ahead of the game.

“We are growing in confidence every day,” said Danny.

“We are able to train more regularly together and gain a better understanding, so we don’t expect to play nervously. We actually believe that the understanding and the alignment are coming.

“When you get the process right and the players become more confident in the process, then the performances will be more confident, so then their actions and decision making will be more confident.

“We understand this is an important game and we will be focused on being the very best version of Huddersfield Town. If we can do that, then we’ll be competitive.”

Stoke come into the game after a 3-2 defeat to Nottingham Forest and Town’s Manager detailed the challenge he expects from the Potters.

“Stoke are in a difficult moment, they have a fantastic squad and Nathan Jones is a manager that we know well.

“We have a clear understanding of them as a team. I think they’ve made a lot of changes in recent times in terms of personnel and formations. For us, that’s not an issue because we have an understanding of their principles.

“Really at this stage the main focus is on us and being able to play a really good away performance.

“We have to be braver with our possession, certainly in the build phase is important, and if we can be braver in those moments then we’ll get control. We know we can carry threat if we get that right.

“We know Stoke have the potential to be a really good team and cause problems offensively. We will have to have the answers to nullify them.”

Danny Cowleys wasn’t able to call on the services of Terence Kongolo, Alex Pritchard or Collin Quaner on Saturday.

He provided a latest fitness update on them.

“Terence Kongolo and Alex Pritchard have made significant improvements since Saturday and we are hoping they will be available tomorrow night.

“That means we will virtually have a full squad to pick from, no Collin (Quaner) unfortunately.”
